A Unified Pledge: Kothmale West Officers Join the "Ratama Ekata" National Campaign Against Dangerous Drugs

On October 30, 2025, the Kothmale West Divisional Secretariat marked a significant step in its commitment to social responsibility and national security. In alignment with the "Ratama Ekata" (Nation Together) National Operation, our institutional officers officially took a solemn pledge to eliminate the menace of dangerous drugs from our society.

This national campaign stands as a crucial initiative to safeguard the future generation, protect communities, and eradicate illicit drug networks across Sri Lanka through a collective, nationwide effort.

Leading by Example in Public Service

As public servants, the officers of the Kothmale West Divisional Secretariat recognize that they play a pivotal role in enforcing state policies and guiding local communities. By taking this official oath, our staff members publicly reaffirmed their dedication to:

  • Zero Tolerance: Maintaining a strict stance against the use, possession, and trafficking of dangerous drugs.
  • Community Awareness: Actively participating in educating the public, especially youth, on the severe socio-economic and health hazards of drug abuse.
  • Support and Vigilance: Collaborating with law enforcement and community leaders to create safe, drug-free environments within the divisional secretariat area.

A Collective Responsibility

The eradication of narcotics requires more than just policy; it demands unwavering personal and institutional integrity. The "Ratama Ekata" campaign emphasizes that true victory against this societal challenge can only be achieved when the entire country acts as one cohesive unit.

By institutionalizing this oath, the Kothmale West Divisional Secretariat sets a powerful precedent, showcasing that the fight against substance abuse begins from within the framework of public administration.

"We stand united with the nation in this vital mission. Our officers are fully committed to fostering a healthy, secure, and drug-free environment for the citizens of Kothmale West."
