Kotmale West Hosts Drama-Therapy Counseling Program to Enhance Mental Well-being of Field Officers

Recognizing the importance of mental health in professional life, a special Drama-Therapeutic Counseling Program was successfully conducted on July 31, 2025, at the Hunugaloya Disaster Management Center. The workshop was specially designed for the Economic Development Officers and other field officers attached to the Kotmale West Divisional Secretariat Division.

The program was enriched by the professional expertise of the Kandy District Psychological Counseling Officers from the Ministry of Rural Development, Social Security and Community Empowerment, who served as the resource persons for the session.

The primary objective of this innovative program was to help public officers manage work-related stress, maintain a healthy work-life balance, and enhance their psychological resilience through expressive drama-therapy techniques. By prioritizing the mental well-being of frontline field officers, the session aimed to empower them to serve the public more effectively and empathetically.
