Marking another significant step toward ensuring secure
housing for all, the commencement of construction work for two new houses took
place on July 14, 2025, within the Kotmale West Divisional Secretariat
Division.
These housing units are being constructed in the Katabula_wa
and Hunugaloya Grama Niladhari Divisions (GNDs) under the prestigious "සැමට නිවහන 2025" (Shelter for All 2025) national development project, which
is actively implemented by the National Housing Development Authority (NHDA).
The initiative aims to provide safe and sustainable shelter
for deserving families in the region, thereby uplifting their living standards
and ensuring social well-being. Government officials, community leaders, and
beneficiaries participated in the event to mark the official laying of
foundations.
