Kotmale West Preschools Celebrate World Environment Day with 'Let Them Bud' Tree-Planting Initiative

To mark World Environment Day, the Early Childhood Development Centers across the Kotmale West Divisional Secretariat Division successfully conducted a series of Shramadana (voluntary community work) and tree-planting programs on June 4th and 5th, 2025.

These activities were organized in alignment with the national theme "දළුලන්න ඉඩ දෙන්න" (Let Them Bud), introduced by the Ministry of Women and Child Affairs.

The core vision behind this meaningful initiative was to foster a deep connection between young children and nature. By nurturing a plant from its early stages, the program aimed to sensitize children to the environment, guiding them to grow into individuals who love, respect, and protect the world around them.

The active participation of teachers, children, and parents highlighted the community's commitment to creating a greener and more sustainable future for the next generation.
